What I did is use some blue 1.5" wide tape and taped the area I wanted to cut, Basically one piece of tape. That is how I got the cuts parellel to each other. Then once I fitted one side I copied the other side by duplicating the process. To make sure they line up with each other I extended the lines with more tape so I can extrapolate where that cut line would go on the other piece. The width of cut was about 1.75" wide, I had to put a second piece of tape down to get the width right, just make sure you are parellel when applying the tape. When cutting ALWAYS drill your corners first so you have a nice radius for the black hose trim. I used a 3/8" but on the corners.
